Locals were forced to relocate just to build the base. Then americans got many locals hooked on alcohol and women would prostitute themselves to get it.

Then the americans crashed nuclear bombs on them. Then america had to be convinced to help with the cleanup. Then the locals had to live with the radioactive wildlife they depend on for eating.
