I don't cope without natural light. Try one blind open and see if that helps.

Windows are west facing so not keen on that but did just go stand outside for a bit. I might set a timer for breaks

Obviously not practical for today, but consider non-blockout blinds or old-school sheer curtains? Their whiteness helps reflect some light/heat, but still let some sunlight in.

Weโ€™ve got 2 west-facing windows in our bedroom. We have one fully blocked out, and the other using just curtains and partially lowered to allow light in, without overwhelming the AC.
