Next week??
Finish your weekend in the Hamptons why don't you, you fucking slackers.
How about an emergency session in the House? Like RIGHT NOW? Trump just attacked another country: do your fucking job!
Guys, somehow I don't think the US Congress is going to save us...
These are elected officials and it's up to the people that elected them to hold them accountable for their inaction and failure to do their jobs. Or are they just gonna wait till the next election to "do" something about it?
We now go live to the DNC headquarters:
By next election the dems will be pushing for "more humane" long-term governance of Venezuela, Colombia, etc... (aka same as republicans, different marketing)...
It's the United States of America. You've got to set appropriate expectations. The last time the USA launched a series of illegal wars they did it with broad bipartisan support.
There's broad bipartisan support for this invasion as well.
Biden spent his time attacking the same people.
Dems can't roll that back. It's like how obomber called for "crippling sanctions" during his whole term...
Just one example: https://www.politico.com/news/2025/01/10/white-house-venezuela-sanctions-maduro-00197540
I think the speaker of the house or majority leader can call an emergency session. I am really unsure about all of the rules.
Well Mikey Johnson didn’t get Trump’s permission for an emergency session, so no.
Some reporter is gonna ask Mike Johnson on Monday if he saw that the US attacked Venezuela and he's gonna say he doesn't know.
If only reporters had balls: "You haven't heard about X giant thing the president did? Doesn't that make you dogshit at your job?"
The only people with access are those that handle republicans with the softest tiny baby hands possible.
What's the rush? Strongly worded letters take time to write.
Gotta soften the rethoric in case it turns around and bites them in the ass, because precedent!
They need some more time for the glue to dry on the little protest paddles
