Venezuela holds the world’s largest proven oil reserves

For context, the US oil company Chevron is the largest international investor in Venezuela

I was listening to a bit of his press conference on the radio this morning...it was...concerning.

He almost sounded out of breath at the start of it. He stuck to the script for a good 45 seconds or so (perhaps a new personal best), but then his ramblings took over, and he quite loudly said all the quiet parts:

  • we are taking over their government until we implement a fair and judicious transfer of power. I'll believe the latter after I witness a flying passel of porcines.

  • our oil industry will "take over" their domestic supply of oil for sale on the global market. This will require big investment in infrastructure, as the existing oil infrastructure in Venezuela is in shambles (according to him), so I'm sure our oil barons will make big investments in Venezuela and give it peacefully back to the Venezuelan people once that "fair and judicious transfer of power" happens (/s expressed if not implied)

  • (this is paraphrased from him) Congress "leaks", this isn't the kind of thing that we could go and tell them "in fifteen days we might need to strike" because they would leak it and we wouldn't succeed...so for the past few weeks we've been sitting offshore and "they (Maduros) knew we were there". So not quite sure what they were worried about leaking.

  • Speaking of leaking, Trump said that it was very dark in Venezuela last night, nearly all the lights were out, thanks to our "expertise" and he trailed off mumbling. It almost sounds like Trump was about to announce some sort of secret EMP weapon that was used but someone from the DoD (err, DoW) was violently waving his arms like "shut your fucking mouth you god damn idiot! That is TS!".

  • Rubio had a long chat with the Venezuelan VP and she will ~~be the shadow puppet they want~~ willingly implement policies from him and Hegseth. Trump said they will work with the Venezuelan people, but also she (the VP) "has no choice". So, ya know...read between the lines a bit there.

  • He ended the press conference saying that if he lost in 2024 "we would've been Venezuela on steroids" and of course had to talk out his ass about Biden's border policy.

So, ya know, just fascist things. Except this buffoon can't even get doublespeak right. I seriously don't think he has the attention span to listen to himself talk despite loving to hear the sound of his own voice.
