"Ultra-realistic sex robot", AKA sex slave. We can't have real sex slaves, because that's immoral and wrong. So, we'll build "ultra-realistic" robot slaves, indistinguishable from humans. That'll side-step all the moral issues, right?

I mean... you're assuming that no one would simulate consensual sex with these? (Reminder: robots have no consciousness, they're not animals) They're really no more slave to you than your dildos.

It'll create new ones. There's been companies promising advanced AI that turned out to be outsourced Indian workers answering prompts in sweatshop conditions. Now apply this to a company renting out "indistinguishable sex bots".
I wouldn't call the mechanical turk a new ethical issue, but you do raise a good point.
I once tried to work for it, it was not available in my region. I could have been the sex bot rn, dodged a bullet.
Slavery kinda implies consciousness. Is your microwave a slave?
