I also hate western TV don't get me wrong. I was just ranting on subject based on the OP and the comment I was replying to. The problems with the two are different though. Western TV is pro-cop, pro-war and extremely cruel and vindictive. Anime is better on those first two subjects usually, but is more overtly pedo-ey and fan service-y, as well as more overtly fulfills taboo power fantasies like harems, vindictive/punitive SA, having special powers that make you the most special boy, etc.
One is made for American boomer war pigs, the other is made for weird nihilist incel Japanese teenage boys. Of course they will be different
game of thrones
the people in game of thrones with harems are the villains, the people in anime with harems are the protagonists. If you haven't seen anime a lot then it's hard to explain how much more overt they are about fantasy fulfillment than in western TV. It's shameless, anyone who watches them will admit to this "guilty pleasure" that is the libidinal release of fascism. This is the major appeal of fascism to Liberals, the ability to drop the mask and all of the feigned concern and just be overtly, shamelessly evil. They still get what they want, the treats, but they no longer have to pretend they are blood-free and carbon-neutral. They no longer have to assuage the leftists or their own conscious. They get off on it, it's a guilty pleasure, and it's one that anime simulates.
