I was given a steroid shot once for a shoulder injury I had. Prior to the shot, I had been in chronic pain for months and had been consulting a surgeon for a possible operation to fix the problem. I could barely lift my arm above my head, and even pushing a car door open was painful.
After the doc gave me the shot the relief was almost immediate. It was like I had never been injured at all. I had never considered using PEDs for working out before then, but holy shit did it feel amazing. I remember wondering why the doctor warned me not to come asking for another shot if I ever got injured again ("it can't be that good, why would he be warning me about this?"), but I completely understood afterwards, it was genuinely like a miracle drug.
Prednisone was like a surprise for me. Never felt anything like it. If it wasn't for the side effects I would be taking it more often tbh.
