My favourite is "move to China!"
And I go "Yes I want to"
They get all shocked
I think it'd be a lot better than here, I just worry about myself being queer there. I hear they're not exactly the best on that front, but really neither is the US, so there's that too.
The main difference is China is getting better whereas the US is getting worse. There are places in China more socially progressive in that aspect than others, Chengdu is famous for being very queer.
I'm sure you could find a subculture there
