TL;DR:

Alberta has the same issue as Texas. Well....lots of the same issues as Texas.
In terms of power grid:

  • Private generators
  • Private transmission systems
  • Private Distributors
  • Private everything means little to no incentive to modernise the grid or properly interconnect it to ensure the grid is stable under heavy load.
