Everyone I know gave up on this show years ago, i have no idea who are all these people watching

Are you kidding me? It has only gotten better.

The show has plenty of issues but I'm sticking with it. I'm not blind to it's faults nor do I hate it outright.

The ending to 5p1 was quite the ride. Good entertainment.

I think the Honest Trailer for it nailed a lot of the critiques, like the lengthy exposition dumps, but it's not as trash as it's made out to be. There were still some subtle takes in the show.

spoilerWhile D&D isn't my preferred TTRPG I have enough experience with the older versions that Will becoming a Sorcerer was a good "in-joke". Sorcerers, magic users in general, were dogshite for the first while in the early editions. But once they got access to 3rd levels spells they start their ascension towards a somewhat literal godhood. Will was kinda dogshite for the first four seasons, but now? Looks like he got to cast Fireball for the first time into a horde of Xvarts.

spoilerHolly, acting was great, and her costuming was... interesting.

It was an 80s homage and a show that could almost feel like it was made in the 80s. Now it’s a CGI animated series that costs more than the entire lord of the rings trilogy and the kids are played by adults, some who are married and have kids of their own now.

Season one was good, season 2 was awful but decided it gets a second chance so I watched 3 and it was awful too so I gave up

Now it’s a CGI animated series

It always was...

the kids are played by adults

Did it occur to you that maybe the plot doesn't take place over the course of a week?

They made the choice to have the show go on and on till the kids are bearded adults. It’s a stupid choice. And the kids are now meant to be 16-17… played by 22-25 year olds. That’s still stupid as hell. Why not have it be a story of the kids returning years later? Anyways I don’t really care where they go.

First season had cgi but was very grounded, creepy and focused a lot on the normal world. Now it’s al fully green screen cgi, I mean if you love it great. I personally hate the tone shift so I’m ok with not watching the rest.

The plot advances a year while the cast went from teen to child bearing adults in 3 years. It's gonna feel a little uncanny.

Peak was the mall season. The rest has been repetitive.

On the other side of that coin everyone I know has watched it and most of them multiple times.

No one I know is watching this dog water either, I'm confused and think this post is a lie.
