Not thrash metal, but very close to it. Fast paced hardcore punk/metalcore from Sweden, reminding me a lot of fellow countrymen The Haunted, just with a yelling shout rather than growl.

Fourth album of theirs released in 2006, linked is my favorite of the bunch with decent melodies and groovy passages in the speed, and even employing some blast beats, albeit sparingly.

Would have never even considered sharing if I didn't think at least some of you guys wouldn't enjoy it, so have at it!

What am I even looking at?

Okay, got it I think.

We're looking at the back of a man, leaning slightly forward and twisting away from the camera, right arm raised and bent at the elbow so his hand is palm-down against the base of his neck with his fingers pointing down his spine.

You can see his left arm, shoulder slightly dropped, and a tribal tattoo around the bicep/tricep (or maybe just below his elbow, the perspective is really hard to get a grip on!)

You can see the back of his head barely, with the tip of his ear just peeking out next to the pinky finger of his right hand.

On his back, is projected an image, which looks like maybe a hand holding something and a couple of heads underneath it, seems like the projection is a super zoomed in piece of a wider image.

Not sure what the projected image is, tho. Might be a clue in the album title. Looks like a woman in the bottom left, and a fist holding a rolling pin? The style kind of reminds me of those inkings in newspapers from like... The 1700s?

Might have more info: looks like this image is the cover art of their album Sound Of The Republic, and there are more images inside the case.

Alright, I'm curious to know too so I've contacted the photographer... Fingers crossed he gets back to me 👀

Yeah lmk your findings, if any 👍

Bad news; John (the photographer) wasn't involved in choosing images for projection, so he reached out to the art director, but the art director doesn't remember. He thinks he found them in an old book, but can't remember which book specifically. A tragic end to our search, for now 🥀

But, in brighter news, John was happy to hear that the album is still being talked about!

That's good. Nevertheless, an interesting search.

a couple of bears high-fiving

Edit: reference to Fallout New Vegas, but I guess the respone makes me a bit of an ass lmao.
