Belgium, 2021, debut LP from this post-metal/atmospheric progressive sludge metal group. Also the first group to be signed under Pelagic Records, which is the label that the creative head of the awesome atmospheric sludge metal group The Ocean created. Music is also very similar to the aforementioned lol.

Tidal, Bandcamp, RateYourMusic, not on Metal Archives :(

First EP this group from Sweden released, in 2018. Heavy psych/stoner doom metal with female vocals. Kinda hypnotic, and with a great bass sound. Also very playful, if that makes any sense.

This EP is on the shorter side, at around 28 minutes, if you decide to go on past the track I'm linking.

I would've had an upload about this album sooner, but I felt it needed a few more spins since release. This is the latest from the Teutonic kings of thrash and it's definitely 100% modern Kreator.

In my opinion, they get more melodic with every album, which isn't exactly a good thing, but ehh it's not terrible. This album has quite a few tracks bringing me back to Anthems of Rebellion or Doomsday Machine era Arch Enemy, which is a little weird for me lol, but I happen to love those albums so it works for me.

I'm gonna link my favorite track of the bunch, got some epic appocalyptic choir just before the solo, but man that fuckin solo blew me away! Hope you all at least enjoy that much. Other highlights of mine are Satanic Anarchy and Blood of our Blood.

Happy to provide! I suppose I could do a "song.link" thingy, but I personally use Tidal, and want more ppl to use Tidal too >:D. Bandcamp is just super awesome for usually giving artists the biggest share of sales, and the last two for archival/knowledge/reviews.

Ooh yea, thanks for the heads up! With all the posting I've been doing in the other communities, I typically only found those aforementioned movements, genres? before, but will definitely keep an open eye out for others going forward.

Post-metal/rock and shoegaze mix together here to create something unique. It's a bastardization of metal that I should detest, but I actually love it lol. It's got enough progressive elements to keep things mildly interesting, and which bring you out of the quieter lulls. Very dream-like in its heaviness, if that makes sense.

Like a mildly softer Gojira without any death metal, or maybe closer to the Devin Townsend Project/Band.

Heavy as fuck stoner/doom/sludge metal from Japan. This is the opener to their latest album - their seventh(?). Quite a long career for a band from a place of origin whose typically known for the "visual kei" and "burning spirits" movements.

Probably my favorite of Civic Shit's stuff. Don't you guys love City Refuse?? Took me forever to come around on this specific band, but in the end, I love Metropolitan Junk just the same as any old crossover/pizza thrash lol.

Had a feelin you'd get a kick out of this one :D

Well said. I guess in general, you'd have to put genuine hard-fought effort to completely wash away any previous identity of any outputs, no matter who you are or what you do in art or what have you.

Totally same! In addition to thrash metal, death metal and other various extreme forms of our beloved sub genre !

Hauntingly beautiful stoner/doom metal from Canada, album released in 2023. Linking the third track, though the one prior kicks ass too. But I feel this one slightly edges it out.

Arguably the most controversial album of their career, having taken a shit load of inspiration from Carcass. They were already influenced by their heroes in their demo days before, but this is the turning point which transformed their sound from goregrind into death metal.

I love this album personally, and my fav track on it is Death Walks behind you, however I will link from the beginning as the first real track after the intro rips as well!

Released today, this single - a teaser from their upcoming album dropping in March! It's modern Exodus, you know what to expect lmao. Fat production, heavy sound to fill a massive concrete pit, aggression abounds!

Hell yea, love this band!

I'm seeing lots of posts here lately that fit squarely in the heavy/power metal sector, !heavymetal@lemmy.world could use some of that love!

I can see it in the style lol

But sadly, not the same artist - Messiah's Artist

Demonic Death Judge's Artist who is also the guitarist

Some dense as fuck technical melodic death metal - frenetic performances from all the members involved. Gonna take a few spins to chew this one down, but it's well worth it if you're a fan of this style of extreme music.

From Finland we have this latest release of theirs in the stoner/doom genre. Gonna link the first track. Got a great fuzzy groove and an aggressive raspy Finnish voice, which might take some getting used to, but once it does, there are tracks they've released that match the same aggression.

Tidal, Bandcamp, RateYourMusic, Encyclopaedia Metallum

From Norway, this band's second LP released in 2016, we had what is mostly death metal, mixed with a healthy dose of thrash, and maybe a tiny bit of black metal. But I'm gonna claim it for this community as this group has a penchant for writing some great riffs with the speed.

Linking the first track of the album; while the first three songs are like 8/10, everything else on the album is like 7.5. I never usually give my opinions a number, but I lack the words I guess lol. If you're a fan of death metal, look forward to a post by me in that community at some point in the future for their latest release!

My pleasure. Got any recommendations from this band's other outputs?

[โ€“] Myr@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago

It has been a LONG while since he's uploaded anything other than pure Minecraft. You'd have to be on the lookout for him in other Hermits' streams to catch him in anything else and I've always enjoyed his other series in a past, so this is nice and refreshing. Lol @ the one downvote on this post.

Normally I'd have just linked the youtube vid in the url spot when making a post, but I felt i had to specifically rip the thumbnail max res just for this xD

Ha, It's my absolute pleasure to find stuff for others to enjoy! I'm not sorry about your wallet. xD
