Oh man, you're a saint. Thank you for doing this and Merry Christmas.

If at all possible, I'd love My time at Sandrock.

Fantastic folk/pagan black metal of Celtic origin. Released this masterwork of an album in 2007. I'm linking the opening track, but the record deserves to be spun at least once if you've an ounce of rebellion in you.

I've been using this community to post about my favorite melodic death, power metal, and folk metal bands as I haven't found any decent communities for those uploads, unlike for thrash metal, doom metal, heavy metal, or death metal. Now I'm not exactly complaining, and I don't think any of you guys are either so.. I'mma keep doing it from time to time.

Groove metal's darling of the early 2000's finally released a single that I fucking love, mixing their normal sound with crossover thrash. This single was put out there on November 21st last month, so I've had some time to let it stir a bit and I've decided to share with you good folks here today. It supposedly goes hand-in-hand with the other single they released just recently as well - Sepsis - but idk personally.

Fifth LP from this fast-paced tech death group, frenetic and energetic. Has some great hooks, especially in the first track (linked) and the second. Even some backing vocals from a softer female voice during some bits here and there.

Stoner/doom band with psychedelic elements from Austin, Texas, USA released this debut in 2014. Fuzzy haze and slightly trippy atmosphere kinda hearkens to the desert of where they sorta come from - or rather - are next to lol. Excellent beat and sound from this trio, might be worth looking into their other releases, tho they seem to play more closely to stoner rock on those.

First track of this Danish viking/folk melodic death metal group's debut that released in 2007. Fun as hell melody with the flute and catchy chorus makes you wanna just grab your axe and join your buddies for a raid.

Old school tech death from Florida, some of the old guard right here. Latest release of theirs as of this post, let loose in 2018. Linking the first track - with infectious riffing, but you know what to expect at this point.

Hailing from NYC, we have this unique mixture of alternative metal and doom/sludge metal. Stands out for me as the multilayered voice might be something you hear on radio, but the instruments are all heavy as fuck and played very well. Debut released in June of this year, and I feel like this group might be something to follow.

Chile really exploded this year in terms of thrash metal, and extreme metal over all. Today I present yet another black/thrash group releasing their debut from this year. Has tons of technical moments progressive songwriting, not to mention it's dripping with atmosphere, especially on the in-between tracks. Whole thing kicks ass but I'll link the first real song on the record. Voice(s) might take a little getting used to but the reverb masks it for the most part lol.

I see we haven't posted this goat of an album yet, so I take it upon myself to expose you to this blistering release.

From Topeka, Kansas, USA we have this brutal techdeath band who employ a plethora of gravity blasts and quite a few tremolo sweeps among their solos. Nearly every track will sound similar to the last upon first listen but the brilliance of the album shines through in repeated listens. Be sure to give some time between each spin, though. Unless you kinda enjoy put yourself through that kind of abuse lol.

While I do recommend spinning the whole thing, I will still link a single track to save time - the title track which encapsulates the album perfectly concisely in a nine and a half minute package.

Probably best described as a black 'n' roll/hardcore punk mix, these anti-conversatives from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA released their second album in 2022. Linked is the fifth track of the album, a real highlight for me right smack dab in the middle of it. Super fun and pretty catchy as all hell, hope you good folks enjoy. Plus this album art fuckin rules.

a couple of bears high-fiving

Edit: reference to Fallout New Vegas, but I guess the respone makes me a bit of an ass lmao.

UK's melodic death/thrash metal and metalcore mix, released this single, from their upcoming album, a couple of months ago and it brings to mind some Revocation works.

Tightly written and got a great sound to it, especially for those that don't mind the voice. Looking forward to diving into this band's past discography someday soon, in addition to checking out this LP when it comes out!

Tidal, RateYourMusic, Encyclopaedia Metallum is down as of this post, weird.

Not thrash metal, but very close to it. Fast paced hardcore punk/metalcore from Sweden, reminding me a lot of fellow countrymen The Haunted, just with a yelling shout rather than growl.

Fourth album of theirs released in 2006, linked is my favorite of the bunch with decent melodies and groovy passages in the speed, and even employing some blast beats, albeit sparingly.

Would have never even considered sharing if I didn't think at least some of you guys wouldn't enjoy it, so have at it!

Fantastic, my friend! Can always count on you to bring forth new faves of mine from Germany! 🍻

[–] Myr@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

Immediately brought you to my mind when I first heard this. Had to share it lmao.

[–] Myr@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

Man I know it, it's more than just surface level stuff cuz it takes a few listens then it grabs you and you're a fan for life. The sum is definitely greater than any individual parts, whether it's from this band or Power Trip or Fugitive, etc.

I got a whole slew of uploads I've been meaning to post, thought maybe I could do a big day with a few at once >:D

[–] Myr@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

Yea the tough-guy attitude he gives off is a little weak imo lol.

[–] Myr@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

Wouldn't've uploaded any of it in the first place if it didn't! 🤣

[–] Myr@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

Hell yea, you hear her rocking it in the solo towards the end of the track, and see it in the vid too!

[–] Myr@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

You're right, you just can't beat this song at all lmao. And from that vid Floor does a wonderful job killing it! I may or may not check out the rest of their stuff based on this going forward, as opposed to just ignoring it completely lol.
