Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

That's what happens when you pick your cronies based on their looks and sycophantic tendencies, instead of experience and knowledge.

She was the only one stupid enough to actually try and go for it. All the other prosecutors they asked refused, I think some even resigned. She's a different kind of stupid I guess.

She’s a different kind of stupid I guess.

She's going to get a dozen book deals from conservative publishers. She'll land a talking head spot on FOX News. She'll hook up with Steven Mnuchin's cousin or get Baron Trump's baby in her or just marries a party mega-donor. Maybe she runs for AG in Virginia in 2029 and rides in on a Republican reactionary wave after President Pete Buttigieg shits the bed. If nothing else, they'll be posting jerk-off material of her on Grok for the next twenty years. I'm sure there's a way to monetize that.

If you think that's stupid, you're thinking she's playing a different game. Her card is punched.

Ugh, it’s all so disgustingly incestuous…

She'll hook up with Steven Mnuchin's cousin

I'll have you know that John Oliver is happily married!

President Pete Buttigieg

Sweet merciful FSM, no!

Maybe she gets a slot on Bari Weiss's 60 Minutes and a credit on the next Mission Impossible film

You are assuming that all those people survive the Revolution. They won't.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world -2 points 4 months ago

When the revolution comes, I'll change my views to fall in line with the party line established by the Glorious People's Republic of JoeRoganStan.

Their version of career skills progression is: "I've been faking it and making it. Based on what I've learned, I'm going to fake it even harder, to increase my making it."

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 4 points 4 months ago

The others were real lawyers, and didn't want to risk their law licenses. But she's not a real lawyer, with a mind-boggling case of Dunning-Kruger, so she was too stupid to know that most judges don't decide cases based on which side has a lawyer that might let them fuck her if they let her win, even though they know she won't.

[–] MehBlah@lemmy.world 1 points 4 months ago

His kind of stupid.

People debasing themselves and ruining their careers is basically mandatory. Each is hoping for a more important government job or contract after. And if that fails there is always hate-blogging and Fox news.

[–] TheFogan@programming.dev 1 points 4 months ago

Well I mean in this case, her lack of competency and credentials were a per-requisite. No one with skills in law would have even considered attempting these cases.

Okay, but in their defense, Lindsey Halligan is an absolute smoke-show. She's going to make a great replacement for Jeanine Pirro in another two years.
