Guaranteed he has no idea what the department of energy does.
DeSantis is a Harvard law school grad and Navy lawyer, he absolutely has an idea what all of those governmental entities do, this is just him and the GOP trying to normalize the fascistic accumulation of power, step one of becoming a dictatorship.

It's just a step by step to purge the government, then whatever else, of undesirables while making an effort to destroy our government one piece at a time. Fascistic Libertarian hellscape here we come! (Also this is nothing new from them, just more open fascism)

No idea what DoC does either, clearly. This is the problem with these people- no idea WTF they're talking about and nobody holds them to account for that.
Most people don’t and it makes me sad. Our National Labs are fucking treasures but so few people know how much of an impact they have on our technology and lives.

Yeah, so what does he want to do with nuclear material along with all of the research around the country? I don't think people know that Energy is responsible for our nuclear stockpile. Not Defense.
Naw he'll just make the military responsible for all the nuclear stuff. It's the standard GOP response.
