There's a line in Fight Club about an Armalite AR-10 carbine semi-automatic rifle. If memory serves this survival rifle is the only one that ticks all those boxes.

The Armalite AR-7 is a survival rifle for downed airmen. I have an OG model and it's a POS.

BTW, I wouldn't recommend the .22 AR-7 vs. polar bears. :)

My AR-7 is the worst rifle I own. And I own a LOT of rifles.

Keep thinking I can gunsmith my way out of it. Nope. Total failure.

The .22 is for being dead before the polar bear starts eating you.

The AR-10 is basically just an AR-15 but bigger. 7.62x51 instead of 5.56x45. It's a very neat gun and probably ahead of it's time, but it's not incredibly unique.

My point was that the specific set of features was uncommon in AR-10s:

  • AR-10 specifically
  • Carbine length
  • No select fire capability

So it tickled me how weirdly specific Fight Club is about it. If the line had been about the AR-15 it wouldn't have made me bat an eye.
