Did you try to turn on the stove?
That has me twisted.
On an instant it sounds incredibly cruel, torture .
But if you consider low heat the pan doesn’t get hot instantly and they probably have enough time to leave so is it?

I honestly think on its lowest setting with my stove the cat would like it
If you put it on very low the cat will think it has a warmed bed
