There's probably heaps of memes but it's really strongly implied in the show. There's like no stigma to being a Vietnam War or an Afghan War Veteran in Australia (I mean there should be). The Australian fairytale approach to any war is basically "Even if the war is bad and a fuck up, our soldiers are brave mates respected by everyone, including the enemy".
