how is aoc even a politician, what terrible political instincts.

Not a good idea to run against the leader who is incredibly unpopular?? WTFFF

At a time where the base, and grassroots momentum, is incredibly left leaning. She is supposed to be a DSA member, she doesn't want another DSA member in congress?

She's a careerist. Not an ideologically committed person.

She didn't get into this for socialism or ideology, she got into this with a vague idea that she could do something to make things better for people after seeing that others were not, and now she's just pursuing the personal climb upwards as her career.

Everything she says and does makes sense through this lens. She will always take the action that furthers her career.

Maybe I'm just more cynical but her pre-election life history, combined with her post-election actions, have convinced me that she never cared to do something to make things better. She saw pretending to care and pretending to want to do something to make things better as good optics to get her into a life-long seat, it has always been a cold calculated position.

Did she, though? I'm increasingly convinced that Joe Crowley was deliberately sacrificed as part of an effort to capture and divert the populist energy that was in the air. She definitely has connections from her internships and fell in line after a single milquetoast protest

her time in Niger is also sus, coinciding with a CIA-backed coup

Ooh, haven't heard about that.

Her whole "just a lil bartender blue collar worker!!" schtick was entirely calculated, she went from being an aide in a political office to bartending for less than a year directly into campaigning for her seat. She quit her lanyard job so she could pad her resume with one single blue collar job for her run.

Literally doing worse than Ro Khanna on this critical leadership question.

[–] plinky@hexbear.net 17 points 2 weeks ago

they only want to ingratiate to power and things of that nature.

She has her eyes on Pelosi's spot, and is modelling her game accordingly
