I'm from Alabama and I'd say Texas is part of 'The South' but not 'The Deep South' which is like Louisiana to South Carolina.

I second this. I lived in New Orleans for most of my live, live in Texas now. I was once told "anything north of I-10 is a Yankee" by a very inebriated sage.

its true "Deep South" does apply to Florida but it doesn't really come close too telling the whole story

Only the northern panhandle. Miami and Orlando are Caribbean.

The panhandle is, but not South Florida. Just like how East Texas is, but not West or Central Texas.

It’s definitely past panhandle. Ocala, Gainesville, Deland. Not like the north and west are much different tho when Ohio and Indiana exist
