The capitulation of Senate Democrats in ending the government shutdown without healthcare concessions has sparked outrage. Calls for new leadership and primary challenges are growing. The fight for a Democratic Party that truly fights back continues.

It doesn't matter. He'd just be replaced by another traitor ghoul who would happily do the same thing. It's fucking over. Nothing good is possible in this system anymore. Hell, maybe it never was.

New York elected Mandami so there is a chance…

I really hope there is, that he's successful and becomes a blueprint for a better way forward. I'm just really close to having totally lost hope.

New York City did. New York State would likely have elected Cuomo.

Cuomo did not do well, but I was surprised he did even as well as he did. It IS a beacon of light that at least one of these pieces of crap got replaced by someone who seems to actually care about something outside of themselves.

Across NY state he would have faired better as he is a known quantity and many liked him for some reason.

Cuomo is one of those politicians whose appeal completely baffles me. He comes across as self-serving to the core. He is exactly the kind of opportunistic, power-obsessed figure people usually say they can’t stand in politics. What’s the draw? The draw must be limited, since NYC rejected him in favor of Mamdani twice, but still.

Hopefully AOC makes the correct choice and takes his senate seat.
