I'm fighting off pneumonia, so I couldn't spend a lot of time chasing her around. I'm going to see if one of the barn hands would be able to help me if they're gonna be there tonight.

Looks full grown, so it's not the first winter.

Don't worry about it too much. A horse in a barn isn't gonna freeze to death this early, and after it's first cold night it'll be more than happy to get a blanket till spring.

Like, keep offering the blanket. But if you try to force it, a horse can get stubborn and decide it never wants a blanket, then you may have issues later on.

Sandy is 26, so she's been fully grown for a bit lol. She struggles with her weight, so I like to blanket her so she doesn't lose as much. She almost died last winter and it's taken all year to get her back into shape. I have her on a much better diet now since she moved farms and she has so many good people looking out for her, but I'm still a worry wart.

She's fine with being blanketed, thankfully. She's just a typical Arabian mare and causes problems on purpose. She's hard to wrangle most days because she likes to play chase with me before we do grooming and all that jazz. The problem is that her current pasture is multiple acres and has a whole herd in it that are all nosy and bothersome. God forbid any geldings try to say hi to us. She has absolutely no patience for little boys
