Ok, pretty funny. Just normal humor. Also holy fck, westerners are so transactional, they need a bussiness agreement for marriage.

"Westerners" LOLOL. Its not just westerners, its conservatism.

Lemme introduce you to my 祖国 (Homeland), China.

Before a guy married a girl, he is expected to provide housing and must have money (aka: stable income).

They actually make skits on Chinese social media making fun of this: Guy and Girl is on a date, girl asks: "Do you have a house, a car? What is your occupation and income?" If answers are unsatisfactory, the girl leaves. This is basically my parents (arranged) marriage in a nutshell, my paternal grandparents help my father get funding for housing. Marriage is expected in society, and it is very much transactional, probably explain why they argue so fucking much.

Even parental love is very much transactional. "Obey me, or else we won't love you"

I mean, there is a bare minimum, people should fix their lives up before committing to anything. But beyond the bare minium, looking at only wealth and gain, kind of defeats the point.
