Real journalism (tm) to say this specifically about the fem-appearing robot.
Try not to make servant software/objects look/sound like women challenge (apparently impossible).
To clarify, folding laundry is currently one of the ONLY tasks that humanoid robots are good at. Anything more complex than that and they’d fail miserably.
The Xpeng humanoid robot’s selling point is in its smooth human-like motion and gesture, but so far they have only achieved the gesture part and haven’t been able to perform any sort of functional tasks.
The headline isn’t wrong because the competitions are the top-of-the-line “laundry folders” at this point.
The real struggle session will be when the humanoid robots become capable of stacking rocks reliably.
