As mod on that (gossip) comm I agree. To be honest, I also think it's unnecessary to have two separate dunking comms based on whether someone is a public figure or a random person. A lot of times that distinction can be quite blurry, and I don't blame people for choosing to post in Slop instead, as that is the more active comm.

Reunite El Chisme and Slop to a single comm, and remove slop's rule #8. "Do not post public figures, these should be posted to c/gossip"

Just a few days ago, some mods moved a news story about the top woman twitch streamer saying that she was sexually assaulted, to the slop comm. What sense does that make? Is the intention to say that she deserves to be dunked on? The story was clearly culturally relevant and many users thought showed interest in the post, and yet mods thought the most appropriate place for it was the generic dunking comm.

It should've gone to /c/videos, which is where most streamer and e-drama go if they haven't been posted in /c/slop or /c/gossip already. The actual post wasn't that great because it was just some shitty article summarizing what happened. What should've happened was someone posting Emiru giving her account or the footage of the SA (with appropriate CW of course). Both would make sense to post in /c/videos because both are video footage.
