that's… certainly one way to interpret that saying. it's more like… "the thing you currently fear? i wish you'd put that energy into what you should actually fear"

I understood the intent. I just thought it was poorly phrased (and that it potentially could have been satirical bait).

I don't think parents should really be afraid of either. Parents have enough scaremongering aimed at them as is. "What if my kid turns out to be a pedophile?" isn't actually a helpful thought that's likely to encourage good parenting.
