Imagine fighting for or defending anything that doesn't, by hook or by crook, ultimately end in greater personal freedoms. Literally what else is there in America to venerate besides the (idea of the) freedom of an individual? Would a more just society venerate capital harder? More genocide? Racism? Sexism?
