i went with mint which may or may not have been a mistake, its all nice and easy now its installed, but after all the dual boot drama with bios vs uefi i ended up having to reinstall it five times because every time i tried to install the recommended nvidia drivers it locked up completely and refused to even boot, somehow the solution to my system refusing to boot was to switch my monitor cable from displayport to hdmi lol wtf
Glad it's working, mint's fine. If you upgrade anytime soon don't buy anything nvidia tho, fuck nvidia.
I hate that Nvidia works better with Blender. It's totally nonsensical
