neuter your fucking cats

especially neuter your fucking outdoor cats

[–] Solumbran@lemmy.world 42 points 3 months ago (4 children)

Cats shouldn't be outdoors period.

Exactly. One of the most environmentally destructive forces of the modern era (and that’s saying something!). Caused dozens of extinctions.

[–] Buddahriffic@lemmy.world 13 points 3 months ago (2 children)

Though humans are more destructive to their local and remote environments by a faaaaar margin but it is considered a serious crime to go around neutering them.

[–] FundMECFS@anarchist.nexus 1 points 3 months ago

And cats being introduced everywhere and not properly managed is entirely on humans!

[–] angrystego@lemmy.world -1 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Not everywhere. Where is it a crime?

[–] FundMECFS@anarchist.nexus 2 points 3 months ago (1 children)

The mass sterilisation of disabled people and other “unfavourable” minorities comes to mind.

[–] angrystego@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

Wft? We were talking about street cats, right? Oh, wait I misread the comment I answered. I thought the second part went back to cat discussion 😅

Lions: "I'm not locked in here with you, you are locked in here with me"

Unless they already been part of the local ecosystem for a thousand years in your country. Then keeping them indoors causes problems instead.

The kitten could be his nephew, or his first cousin once removed.

[–] angrystego@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago (1 children)

That still falls under the "related" term, though.

[–] rustydrd@sh.itjust.works 8 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Yes, that was my (humorous) point. The cat can be related to other cats even if it is neutered.

[–] angrystego@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

Oh, sorry, whoosh on my part.

[–] Dhs92@piefed.social 7 points 3 months ago

Are outdoor cats even pets at that point
