My pick: The Silence of the Lambs

Literally never got the hype, it's an aggressively mid movie. Not scary. No deeper message. Just a snoozefest of a movie.

Bonus Pick: The Godfather

Although I did like the movie, I didn't think it was top tier like its commonly placed. There's a ton of pro-AmeriKKKan propaganda and undertones in it as well.

Bonus bonus pick: The Matrix

I can see why people enjoyed it, the themes are interesting first time around. I just found the action scenes and Keanu Reeves character incredibly cringy. Kind of ruined it for me.

Alright Hexbear what are the most overrated movies in your opinion? Feel free to call me an uncultured pleb in the comments too.

All of these old films seem so boring and overrated when I watch them after having only seen more recent films influenced by them.

A lot of Hitchcock's films stand up today

Psycho for sure.

The Birds threw me for a loop because it’s really just a really long love story, with like 30 minutes of bird squawking at the end. I still liked the movie but I had to call my mom and press her on why she was terrified when she first saw it lol

Absolutely. I’m a bit astonished at the people who didn’t recognize my post above as sarcasm. What kind of person would really think that?

I gained a new annoyance as I started to grow old. And I think it is precisely and solely this phenomenon.
