This was not the first time that some villagers in the district of Dak Cheung had seen powerful new technologies materialize in the skies over their isolated homeland. More than half a century ago, American warplanes dropped millions of pounds of bombs in this region during the Vietnam War. In Dak Cheung, where most inhabitants are members of the Triang ethnic minority, many huts still stand on stilts fashioned from the shells of American bombs.

Where once American bombs fell, Chinese wind turbines now rise.

Look at the dumb Chinese, they are giving wind turbines to the locals to have clean energy, instead of bombing them with hellfire so they can built new huts.

Yeah you read these reports from the countries and they're always like "china made a deal with us and they kept their word so things are good". Meanwhile we have to get a fucking investigative reporter digging into old deals the Americans made in the same global South countries to learn america made deals, got what they wanted and then dumped some cheap ass shit that broke within a week and then offered to sell them more trash that would constantly require more money and leave them reliant on American support.

Gee I wonder why the global South doesn't trust the west.
