I do prefer the original graphics, to be honest. The remake entirely alters the vibe and colour palette of the original Gears of War, and in the case of the level shown here, mostly removes the heavy rain in favour of a light drizzle for some reason. The characters got hit with some kind of botox ray gun too and look a lot prettier and younger
If only the Gamer CHUD had actually tried to make a point here, instead of just getting mad that women and non-white people exist, they might've come away with a better understanding of atmosphere and tone in storytelling and game design, and may have actively become a better, more well rounded person because of it.
