Don't blame American losers on Russians. Russians didn't vote for Trump, Americans did.

[–] Jumi@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I'm pretty certain that Russia, China and probably some others too had a huge influence on forming public opinions.

It's weird that everyone talks about foreign nations dabbling in influence when Musk openly paid more than a quarter of a billion dollars and literally bought Twitter to elect Trump. One billionaire is buying up all the local TV stations. Another owns the Washington Post. Another is buying TikTok. Another controls FB and Instagram. 90% of media is controlled by 5 companies.

The fascism is coming from inside the house.

Because Americans have all the money and the property. It's a $25T/year economy.

You're focusing on the mouse instead of the elephant.

But russian leadership helped convince the American losers to vote for trump

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

For every dollar a Russian spent, there's an American conservative who spent $1000.

TPUSA was dropping $85M/year on conservative activism, channeled through a hodgepodge of home grown reactionary billionaires.

So russia had better bang for the buck! They both still fucked up the us

So russia had better bang for the buck!

How can anyone looking at Russia circa 2015 compared to Russia circa 2025 think that?

[–] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Strictly speaking on the russians interference? I'd say that russia more fully bought the us leadership this time

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world -1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

How many Russians are in the Trump cabinet?

How many Wall Street bankers? How many Silicon Valley Techbros.

[–] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

The gop is probably 98%, the law makers, as for the tech bros, I wouldn't know, there is at least 1 big fish

[–] OrteilGenou@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

They sure campaigned for him
