https://www.dexerto.com/tv-movies/how-to-boycott-abc-action-plan-revealed-after-jimmy-kimmel-cancelation-3253382/

  • cancel Disney+, Hulu, ESPN
  • Perry Sook is responsible for Nexstar and cancelling Jimmy Kimmel. Nexstar's phone number is 972-373-8800
  • Cancel any planned trips to Disney’s theme parks. Halt any purchases of Disney memorabilia. Try to do these cancelations over the phone or chat. Tell them it’s because you don’t want any of your money going to the Disney corporation so long as Kimmel is off the air
  • If you live near a Disney Store or the Disney Parks or a Disney/ABC corporate office, organize a group of friends to picket in front of the building/property and encourage employees to consider calling in sick (don’t be mean to them though, they may be in a tough place)

List of advertisers on ABC - boycott the products as well as cancelling Hulu/Disney:

Yeah, that's, like, every single cell phone service provider and a ton of medically necessary, life-medications. You can't just boycott this shit. That's to say nothing about the insurance companies, which are sometimes not even a choice for a lot of people.

You individually don't have to do everything. Drop the one least important holding from your life, and let the company know why you did it

Nobody has to die. A fuckton of us just have to do without Disney+ for a bit.

It's honestly shocking to me that anybody is still subscribed to Disney+ at all. This is far from the only reason to not support Disney, and it right now is when you're deciding to boycott Disney, you're just doing it performatively or you've been burying your head in the sand for way too long.

I'm not going to berate anyone for doing the right thing a little after I personally did

[–] MnemonicBump@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 week ago

That's not what it's really about. I'm saying that people doing it now only care because of this one thing that they are being outrage-baited into caring about temporarily. It's performative.

unfortunately this is not going to work as a protest just cancelling shit

look up all the companies and see who controls it then look up to see who controls them

all operated by the same megacorps such as the news and other media

all United States companies are tied in with everyday life just one example on your list is insurance and imagine trying to take care of our elders with the small number of resources available on top of them not having a way to ring out

and there is no other company to go to because just like unilever everything is controlled by the same groups

fixing this willing require trashing the whole goddamn thing and starting over which is maybe the only solution left
