tl;dr: heat energy moves in waves
... in a superfluid (ie in some substances at very close to absolute zero)
It's not investigated yet, if this mechanism is also present in other, non-exotic, media. At least this would qualify some inertia and thus, finite propagation velocity of heat conduction.
