If AI can do your job, your job is pretty meaningless.
Come on, that's such a horrible take. People love to shit on customer service jobs, or editorial services and cast them aside saying AI will flush them out.
But now try to use a company's helpline or trying getting a serious piece of literature copyedited and it will be one of the worst experiences you will have. AI technically "does their job", but it is so shitty.
But that is what they said i believe. If AI can do your job. In your example this is not the case.
People on helplines are just reading scripts and following prompts anyway. They're likely less useful than AI since AI isn't going to get grumpy because it hasn't had a Snickers, or be distracted by their plans after work / the hot new staff member in Accounts or whatever.
I'm all on board with AI replacing roles that can be simulated with IF... THEN statements.
Unemployment for everyone! Great attitude
Feel free to use the company branded chatbots as your single source of customer service and technical support. I've been trying to get them to provide help on so many occasions, but I've always needed to be connected to an agent.
It's not like they actually let you pick something meaningful just because you want to. If I automate mechanical turk and am replaced I'm sure they have something else just as meaningless for me to do
Yup, detecting cancer is meaningless. 👌
