Probably why he posted an AI eulogy for Kirk

Damn, Moves the left hand then looks at the right not move. For a narcissist, trapped in your own body may just be the worst thing.

[–] snooggums@piefed.world 33 points 5 days ago

Since he will never face any consequences for his actions, this is a reasonable second.

I hope he is suffering every moment of every day.

[–] krunklom@lemmy.zip 15 points 5 days ago

Every day brings more good news.

I don't know if it's completely AI...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-q1N6Akpz9c

It feels more like a really really advanced filter. Which explains why he keeps his body almost perfectly still, to the point he holds his hands together the whole time.

Those filters don't like movement, but I've literally never seen him be so still before.

Like, he filmed it, that's actually trump in the video, then they ran a deep fake filter with him with a "better" face/hands. But so it wouldn't stick out, they ran the same filter over everything else, which is why everything looks AI in the video despite no plausible reason.

It's sounds tinfoily until you remember this is trump we're talking about, he's done way worse

[–] Brkdncr@lemmy.world 45 points 5 days ago (2 children)

There’s oddness that’s also affecting the window in the background. You see it move around odd when he moves around odd.

He’s clearly covering his right hand.

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 33 points 5 days ago

Oh shit, you're right. It goes dark. If you speed up the video to 2x and turn off the sound, his mouth is moving way to uniformly to be a real person.

[–] BJ_and_the_bear@lemmy.world 18 points 5 days ago (2 children)

At 0:19 the trees behind him shift suddenly

[–] anomnom@sh.itjust.works 5 points 5 days ago

Looks like some kind of ML version of a dissolve edit. There was also a shift in his position and no breath between sentences there. Like they cut out a big breath or interruption of some sort.

He’s way too still and uniform over the whole thing though. No 80 y/o can hold that still unless they’re napping in front of a TV. (And you usually end up checking for breathing when they do).

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 24 points 5 days ago

I'm on board with a heavy filter at the very least. I think he has the hand of a stroke victim and covering it. My theory is many, mini strokes.

[–] criss_cross@lemmy.world 17 points 5 days ago

I heard someone mention it could be Adobe Premiere or some shit like that.

It’s definitely doctored in some way.

Reminds me a lot of the lengths they went to hide the fact that FDR was in a wheelchair way back.

[–] drspectr@lemmy.world 4 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

It might be another person and they glued trump's face on them with ai. Then tehy edited the best takes.

[–] null@lemmy.nullspace.lol 2 points 5 days ago

Did people forget that we've been editing videos for decades before "AI" existed?

[–] whiwake@lemmy.cafe 31 points 5 days ago

Yes, the real one would be like, Charlie, great guy. Dead. Sad. I remember one time he said mister president, I really look up to you—may I see your collection of master locks?

[–] kbobabob@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (1 children)

After seeing this, I am 100% on the "it was AI" train. They may have used him or even someone else as a sit in to overlay onto. Kinda like MOCAP.

[–] tidderuuf@lemmy.world 7 points 5 days ago (2 children)

I saw someone mention something about his hands but that was quickly debunked. Was there anything else that proved it to be faked?

[–] CubitOom@infosec.pub 55 points 5 days ago (6 children)

How was it debunked?

You can clearly see his pinky finger melting into his palm and then his ring finger becoming his new pinky if you play the official video on YouTube at 0.25 speed.

https://lemmy.world/post/35748353/19324281

Im not sayubg the whole video is fake, but there's definitely something weird about the video

[–] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 47 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (2 children)

Likewise, look at the damn article this post is about.

Trump today does not look like the Trump in that video. Trump, today, looks like he's had a damn stroke.

The AI video doesn't even look like a Trump from this week, and even if its only AI in-part, thats still extraordinarily important and not OK, and any one dismissing this as a "debunked" is normalizing something thats actually a huge fucking deal (way fucking bigger than some shit bird getting shot in the neck).

[–] DrFistington@lemmy.world 19 points 5 days ago

Yeah, I don't know how people can't realize that Trump in that video, is NOT what Trump actually looks like, even with the best makeup. He's old and tired. When you see pictures of him dressed in casual golf attire at maralago he looks like an old fat woman who's melting

[–] bookmeat@lemmynsfw.com 2 points 4 days ago

Forget autopen, Trump has moved on to autospeech.

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 18 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (1 children)

If you speed up the video, his face is obviously fake.

When he came back after he disappeared he looked like he had a stroke. I think he's having many mini strokes making it harder for him to disguise after each one.

[–] sp3ctr4l@lemmy.dbzer0.com 17 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (1 children)

I know we just recently got into a bit of tussle elsewhere, but I think I mostly agree with you here.

The uh, the 'morph-cut', when his hands shift and kinda melt?

Look above his head when that happens.

The lighting and shadow on the trees in the background changes.

Its all one way before that happens, and its all another way after that happens.

... I think he literally stroked out, while they were filming this, thats why the morph cut is there, and if some body wanted to try to model the scene, the oval office, geopositioned right, with the sun, they could probably estimate how long it was between these two shots they merged together... or timeskipped between.

I don't think his face is completely fake, I think it may have some kind of... correction applied to it, to try to minimize the droopiness of ... what you can see in his face today, from the 9/11 memorial.

Sorta like how and instagram filter morphs your face... and a frame stabilization effect tries to keep objects centered and just boink the frame itself around...

Something like a face stabilization effect, if that makes any sense.

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 9 points 5 days ago (1 children)

I agree with all of that. I meant his mouth specifically when I said his face.We live in wild times.

[–] sp3ctr4l@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 5 days ago

Ah, yeah, just the mouth, that makes more sense.

Ever see Equilibrium?

The uh, dear leader... just straight up is a digital construction, got a fake voice and all that too?

... Too bad gun kata would never work at all in real life...

[–] saigot@lemmy.ca 13 points 5 days ago (1 children)

I have seen some video editors say that it's shot morphing, a technique to seamless switch from one shot to another or to cut out filler words. I don't think it's good to edit shots like this where veracity is important but it's probably real.

[–] CubitOom@infosec.pub 11 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

Maybe. If that's true, I still say it should be called out and it shouldn't be accepted as a practice.

[–] TheRealKuni@piefed.social 10 points 5 days ago (2 children)

but there's definitely something weird about the video

Sure. Recorded at 24fps and interpolated to 60fps. Lots of weird shit can happen with motion interpolation.

[–] Bronzebeard@lemmy.zip 21 points 5 days ago (1 children)

His body barely moves at all until it randomly spasms into motion every like 30 seconds. That's not how people, especially Mr talks with his hands, communicates.

[–] leftzero@lemmy.dbzer0.com 13 points 5 days ago

He's dead and they turned his corpse into an animatronic puppet, but they did it poorly, like everything they do.

[–] CubitOom@infosec.pub 10 points 5 days ago (1 children)

I've played a bit with frame interpretation using open source models. With those models, fast movement did seem to trigger some weird artifacts and glitches that were visible at lower speeds or paused.

I guess it's possible that a propietary model is using some other image generation techniques to make those artifacts less noticeable. I think that would still constitute something that should be called out.

If the issue is with interpretation, then we shouldn't see this visual glitch in the original footage.

[–] Dojan@pawb.social 3 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

YouTube has been doing “AI” stuff to shorts lately. It’s caused a lot of upset among the artists posting stuff as it’s changing their artwork.

That said, I’ve not seen the video in question so don’t take my comment as anything about that.

[–] nialv7@lemmy.world 3 points 5 days ago

It's morphing to hide a cut, it's used quite often nowadays. Probably Trump fucked up a read and couldn't be assed to do it again. Infer from that what you will.

[–] oOAlteredBeastOo@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago

I was weirded out by the disappearing finger as well. There was a recent article in The Atlantic that mentioned Google had been testing AI to improve video clarity. It's possible we are seeing a combination of that and motion interpolation artifacts like what was mentioned here. I used yt-dlp commands to download both the CNN video and the video from the white house channel. They both look less weird on a larger screen. That process was called out here.

[–] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 22 points 5 days ago

It definitely wasn't debunked. A justification for how it might have happened was presented but that is in no way a "debunking".

That damn ~~autopen~~ AI.
