Not only that, but everything has to go through the old-boy network in the U.S.
People talk about how it used to suck to have to bribe officials in China, but my father used to also talk about how it made business simpler. No futzing around with if you have to have dinner or promise a grant, or whatever like you do in Europe or the U.S. Go to the place, pay the person you need to pay, get on with your business.
It is good they are cracking down on the egregious cases of it, but pretending business is efficient in the U.S. is the funniest thing I have ever seen.
