The media is vilifying Roger Waters again (hexbear.net)

He recently did an interview discussing how media distracts from important issues, and essentially one of the things he discussed in the interview is that he had no interest in Black Sabbath’s music or Ozzy Osbourne’s music/career and referred to his TV show as “idiocy and nonsense”, and the media is acting like he just pissed on Ozzy’s grave and slapped his kids in the face or something.

Is it a bit blunt saying that 5/6 weeks after he died? Sure. But the media is going as far as to refer to him as “unhinged” over it. He didn’t even insult Ozzy as a person, just said that he never cared for his music or media presence.

I just don’t see how any of what he said is that big of a deal, but I’d be interested to hear other opinions on this.

As a guitarist, I honestly find David Gilmour to be overhyped.

He’s not a bad guitarist, just a one trick pony. Most of his solos are good, but he’s an extremely basic rhythm player and his fingerstyle skills are practically nonexistent. They actually had to hire another guitarist to perform “Is There Anybody Out There?” because David Gilmour couldn’t play it properly (it’s an extremely basic fingerstyle pattern that anyone with basic fingerstyle skills could get the hang of relatively quickly.)
