People are so convinced what Amerikkka does is "spreading democracy", while also realising how bad it looks, that when communist states and groups in power attempt to provide support to other revolutions and communist parties, and sometimes say we're "spreading communism" in a similar tone/context, people jump to criticizing us for "Soviet imperialism!" because they don't understand what's actually happening and they just assume that commies do now and did during the Cold War the exact same thing with soft power and spheres of influence that Amerikkka does with those regime tools. Which, yes, we do use those tools to promote socialist values, but we don't engage in the predatory economic bullshit that the capitalists do.
Anyway, read Lenin. He explains capital's role in imperialism way better than I can.
