There's the prefab modular units and then there's the newer wall/floor components and they don't align on the same grid. One is on a (iirc) 3m grid and the other is on a 5m grid. It's infuriating to my sense of aesthetics and drives me absolutely bonkers
The trick is that the prefab corridors will align with the wall arches -- you can use that to get things to snap together, but it's still pretty tricky because you'll have either a hairline overlap or a hairline gap sometimes. I have fallen through one of those gaps before in a low-orbit base; it fucking sucks. Handy for setting up fishing bases, though! I like to set up a pair of pylons using the cylindrical prefabs on either side of a big-ass rectangular fishing room that is just a hair above the waterline and also has landing pads connected to it. The prefabs contain batteries and solar panels, and are wired together by connections hidden under the fishing room.

the hairline gaps are unacceptable to me and I quickly get bored with fiddling with everything
