It's a hard choice - I don't like Google, but they're good phones. I really wanted to get something other than a Pixel when I got the battery "recall" for my 4a. Ended up with a used 8 Pro.
They were good phones. I had the Pixel 1 and the Pixel 3a, and they were fine. And then all this crap started happening. At least Samsung only had one phone that exploded.
Google had phones explode? I hadn't heard about that. Samsung is a nightmare for other reasons too so this news sucks.
Well, there's been at least a couple of Google Pixel 6a devices that spontaneously burst into flames while charging.
My wife's pixel, I think a 7a, had the battery issue. It started going from 20% to 0 instantly then the back expanded and smelled like burning. Google replaced the battery but the cracked rear case was not covered... It was less than 1.5 years old
