An attendee asked Cuomo directly if he or his team was in conversation with the White House about how Trump might influence the race. Cuomo didn’t directly deny it this time.

“Let’s put it this way: I knew the president very well,” Cuomo said. “I believe there’s a big piece of him that actually wants redemption in New York. He feels that he was rejected by New York. We voted for Hillary Clinton. Bill de Blasio took his name off things. So I believe there will be opportunities to actually cooperate with him. I also believe that he’s not going to want to fight with me in New York if he can avoid it.”

“We can minimize (the Sliwa) vote, because he’ll never be a serious candidate,” Cuomo told the crowd at a Hamptons fundraiser Saturday, according to audio obtained by Playbook. “And Trump himself, as well as top Republicans, will say the goal is to stop Mamdani. And you’ll be wasting your vote on Sliwa. So I feel good about that.”

If you have good candidates, people will show up and vote for them. The problem isn't with "tankies". It's with the Democratic Party sucking ass.

Tankies actively say voting doesn't matter. I get their critiques and they are valid, but to not vote is to give up an important front in the class war for no reason. It also means that the progressive movement won't grow (either in the dem party or independently)

Which is why I'm saying tankies are also keeping us from shifting left in this regard.

That isn't the problem, though. The reason why Kamala Harris lost isn't because a bunch of tankies convinced people that voting doesn't matter. Kamala Harris herself convinced them that voting didn't matter.

Hey, it wasn't all Kamala's fault! Biden also helped convince them that voting doesn't matter. As well as Obama... and a bunch of other Democrats.... and the DNC.....

Federal elections are still just one of many. Tankies aren't even at least trying to go state and local; which matter even more. Then they wonder why they have no one in office. I get the deck is stacked, but they are also not doing much grass roots either.

Again its only one part of the class war, but its still one that matters a lot
