Official Title of this Community: Ethnic Minorities and People of Color
Why is the title different?
We like to have fun here.
What is this place? A safe space for underrepresented peoples and peoples of color to talk, chill, and vibe.
What are the basic rules of the community?

Follow Lemmy TOS and Community Guidelines. Non negotiable. This is the bedrock and mods will make decisions with this always in mind.

This community is for ethnic minorities and people of color. This is a safe space where such people can freely discuss their struggles, insight, and thoughts without fear. If you are not, we respectfully ask you do not post or comment here. A future community will be established to allow for racial discussions with a mixed userbase. However, remember, comments here must still respect Lemmy TOS and Community Guidelines.

No sectarianism: This is an identity channel not a channel for you all to complain about why XYZ isn't the "one true leftism". Take that to another place.

Stupidpol is not allowed. Stupidpol is class reductionist. We are an identity community. Thinking like stupidpol ignores the struggles of the oppressed, their voices, and their need for unique support. Nothing says oppression more than someone saying that the identity you have is "not real" and that if you only thought like them you'd see what your "real" identity is. Mods reserve the right to ban users and content who promote stupidpol, stupidpol memes, and other class reductionist thinking.

This place is for ethnic minorities and people of color. This includes those of mixed heritage and those who may be "white" but are of an ethnicity that is a minority in their area (i.e. Kurds, etc) If you've experienced oppression due to your identity that is not based on sexual / gender identification, you are welcome here.

Moreover, for our American audience, we have people from around the world who are "white" but are oppressed due to being a minority in their country. They are and should be welcomed here.

That person is just the standard embodiment of white people: given power they absolutely didn’t deserve and definitely don’t have the proper intellect to handle yet ego so inflated that they think minorities are just dumb and uneducated and even tho literally everyone telling them they should self crit they deny it in favor of their own delusions

He should not be banned imo, but definitely demodded and made to self-crit, I think it would be good for him
This is the type of person no self respecting leftist would take serious in real life. Incredibly childish and a head big with no right to be. I would place 0 trust in anything this individual says or does. I agree a ban isn’t necessary but the power most definitely needs to be stripped away and there should be constant pressure for self crit should they choose to still try and engage with this community. Though probably none of that will happen
Yeah I guess that's why I'm still posting about it long after my first comment at breakfast time, lmao. I don't expect anything to really change except for we get the emoji and some more people get banned for not enjoying the site properly.
Which, I gotta say, banning people for breaking the "enjoyment of the site" rules is BS. It's so patronizing, who are they to determine who's enjoying themselves the right way or not? Personally I enjoy fighting crackerdom, and it just so happens that the crackerdom is coming from inside the house. There are clearly other mods/admins who are interested in protecting Nakoichi and probably share similar patronizing sentiments, it’s a bigger sitewide problem. Yes the call is coming from inside the house
The time I do spend on this website I’ll continue to call it out as well, I have no interest in carrying on posting memes pretending like we’re not being redirected through a veiled bureaucracy whenever there’s a legitimate complaint that is extremely one sided by the userbase
