Look, sweetie, how else do you expect to work with the other side of the aisle if you don’t compromise with the Nazis and give them some of what they want? Demonstrating that respecting the standards and norms of DC upholds democracy will sway the Nazis, because obviously everyone sees centrist liberals as the moral arbiters for all politics.

One side is fascists eager to put us all into camps and the other side is fascists pretending to be moderate Adults In the Room building the camps for the other fascists to put us into when they inevitably lose an election once "we're marginally better than the other guys" stops motivating people to vote for them
