This article presents incomplete information. Overall CPI held steady at 2.7%, but core CPI which excludes food and energy costs because of their volatile nature, hit a 6 month high of 3.1%. Total CPI was suppressed by falling fuel prices and moderate food increases. So we should expect to see overall CPI tick up in subsequent months as fuel prices level off.
