I heard recently about a case where the man had a modest but stable job. Both women had also decent union work. So to the "unsecret" family he was contributing say 60% of his income. The mother of the secret family knew she was the second family so mostly self-managed with the more transient father contributing a lesser amount.

In effect, it was 3 adults pooling resources to raise the 3 or 4 kids bewteen them, though only 1 of the adults an 0 children knew of it.
