Hail is becoming more common in my part of the world, and I need to be prepared for events. Packable solutions would be great, so it can be deployed while away from home too. Does anyone have experience with purchasing hail covers that are effective? Have you done a DIY cover too? If so, mind sharing your results?

the vinyl wraps might save the paint but if the hail is hitting the glass just right it can crack it

and sometimes the weight is just too much and hail will leave dimples, if its exposed

you could also get a car cover that you could put on when its exposed, but for short term use that would be a pain

From what I've seen, hail rarely harms the paint at all before the point where it will leave dents.
