Flippant Anarchism. A lighter take on social criticism with the aim of agitation.

Post humorous takes on capitalism and the states which prop it up. Memes, shitposting, screenshots of humorous good takes, discussions making fun of some reactionary online, it all works.

This community is anarchist-flavored. Reactionary takes won't be tolerated.

Don't take yourselves too seriously. Serious posts go to !anarchism@lemmy.dbzer0.com

Rules

  1. If you post images with text, endeavour to provide the alt-text

  2. If the image is a crosspost from an OP, Provide the source.

  3. Absolutely no right-wing jokes. This includes "Anarcho"-Capitalist concepts.

  4. Absolutely no redfash jokes. This includes anything that props up the capitalist ruling classes pretending to be communists.

  5. No bigotry whatsoever. See instance rules.

  6. This is an anarchist comm. You don't have to be an anarchist to post, but you should at least understand what anarchism actually is. We're not here to educate you.

  7. No shaming people for being anti-electoralism. This should be obvious from the above point but apparently we need to make it obvious to the turbolibs who can't control themselves. You have the rest of lemmy to moralize.

I hate that “Libertarianism” in US-english means those “free” market dumbasses.

It actually meant anarchist (anti-capitalist) originally and was a euphemism for anarchist when it was banned to be one. It still means that in French generally.

I mean, it's not atypical for Americans to completely redefine a political definition so badly it loses all meaning. Just look at how most of us define our "leftist" leadership.....

“liberal” meaning left is a decent example as well.

Yeah.... Our education system isn't big on political history, or really history in general.

yall seem to learn plenty about the glorious colonialists who brought civilisation (/s)

When you do it it's tyranny....when we do its democracy manifesting freedoms. You see the difference? Your soldiers had kings, our soldiers have burger king, it's eloquently simple when you think about it.

Idk I went to a public HS and we had a good coverage of the gilded age. Reflecting on that as I got older is a big part of why I moved away from thinking capitalism is good.

Didnt used to! Was an active propaganda campaign.

I mean, we have a political party called the "Republicans" and they're really obsessed with giving their head honcho king-like authority. Everything over here makes no sense.

Not anarchism but freedom of authority

Anarcho-liberalism

victoria 2 flashbacks

Anarcho monarchism is something people youve heard of genuinely believe in.

It does require believing in magic.
