Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

This guy's wife had to declare that she doesn't eat with her hands because her husband is so racist.

[–] Allemaniac@lemmy.world 1 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

what a vile excuse of a human being. I hope she is devorcing this racist cunt

[–] SkunkWorkz@lemmy.world 2 points 10 hours ago

She’s probably a racist piece of shit as well. Like her father is Dinesh D’Souza. She was raised by racist piece of shit. She still married to a racist after experiencing what a racist man looks like for her whole life. She probably thinks the racism and bigotry are good character qualities.

so they raised a hog on a cattle ranch

There is nothing wrong with living in a rural area or being a blue collar worker. The last sentence there is unnecessary.

As someone who has been in both those demographics, this guy doesn't represent me or the hardworking albeit sometimes simple people I grew up around.

Please don't use those words as a cudgel. It drives those undereducated and uninvolved people to identify more with this asshole than the progressives that have more in common with them beneath the surface.

“Go back to the third world”

“Go back to your recheck farm”

so only then it got offensive for you.

[–] syreus@lemmy.world 2 points 10 hours ago

It's clear I thought the first was offensive as well. Lemmy is all righteous anger and no purpose these days.

Only one of those things was said here on this site, in this thread, by a lemming that we can directly criticize.

Shouldn't the space we occupy and the people we are immediately surrounded with be put above performative anger at external topics?

The politician said terrible things. Posting about it only goes so far.

A lemming said bad things. We can affect that.

So you’re not even acknowledging the full fledged racism that is the topic in this little whataboutism speech you put together there?

Nothing about the racism. Not one word to nod to the overarching story here.

So which part of you missed that? The rural part?

US is currently burning wheat farms cuz the world has shifted off of cheap wheat for something more stable.

And the world knows which ones are the red states and are boycotting.

So You have two choices: take it personally or acknowledge a consequence of ignoring racism and self interest replacing it with apathy and revenge. Just know this: Neither will make a difference in the long run. You’re still headed to the same destination. So even now with at this point you’re begging to ignore it. Noted.

You’re just echoing the overall problem here by not even acknowledging the topic.

It drives those undereducated and uninvolved people to identify more with this asshole

Don’t even pretend you were ever an ally.

[–] syreus@lemmy.world 4 points 10 hours ago

It's clear this guy is an asshole. You are frothing trying to make an enemy of me but read with a little more care. I was always an ally and you are here trying to divide us. I feel like you didnt understand my comment so I'll repeat with emphasis.

It(Your use of redneck and hick as a pejorative.) drives those undereducated and uninvolved people(Single issue/peer sensative voters) to identify more with this asshole( The racist asshole that you somehow need me to clearly point out is both racist and an asshole.)

Read carefully.

When Trump fucks up do you call him a fatty?

When a black judge says women belong in the kitchen do you say "go back to the plantation!"

A woman supports Trump. "Shut up cumdumpster, go make me sandwich if you want to be trad"

That guy brought up something said HERE ON THIS WEBSITE. Someone HERE threw out redneck for living in the sticks. You're fucking dumb if you think people need to write an essay on what they think of a topic before they can point out issues in discourse.

See that? I don't need to prove anything to call you out. I don't need to call out racism to call out dumb posts.

Before you reply, make sure to write an essay about why it's ok to insult unrelated groups of people in order to hurt an individual. At least follow your own weird rules.

[–] teslasaur@lemmy.world 3 points 14 hours ago

So your plan to have him removed from power is what?

Genuine question since you don't seem to want to win elections.

Obviously he's a cunt, so winning against him should be a cakewalk then.
