Democrats Shocked By Success Of Left-Wing Candidate Offering Left-Wing Policies To Left-Wing Voters
(www.betootaadvocate.com)
Welcome to Progressive Politics! A place for news updates and political discussion from a left perspective. Conservatives and centrists are welcome just try and keep it civil :)
(Sidebar still a work in progress post recommendations if you have them such as reading lists)
While you're not wrong, I don't know how we can possibly put that genie back in the bottle.
Stack the court then sue Elon or any PAC.
Cling to power for 40ish years and realign the court as the conservatives die.
Impeachment and removal of corrupt justices, then sue.
1 and 3 are the only remotely realistic but I'm not that optimistic right now.
Vote DNC, it's one of their primary stances. It requires either enough Republicans to cross the aisle to defeat filibuster (never happened never will) or a DNC house majority and senate supermajority to amend the constitution.
Or a simple majority of democrats willing to do away with the filibuster. Won't happen. They like being able to use the filibuster for its only purpose: blocking progressive legislation.
There has been only one filibuster since trump took office for a second time. It wasn't against anything.
They refuse to accept anything where the dnc isn't perfect in everything single way.
"I don't think we should bomb children", "I think medial-debt shouldn't be the largest cause of bankruptcy in our country", "People should be able to oppose genocide", "cops shouldn't be able to assault innocent people without consequence"
I think your definition of "perfect" might be a little off, as I think those are all fairly reasonable to ask of the DNC.
